Did anyone else have the feeling during the first few pages of the story that the story was going to be a parable?
From starting the story in medias res, i got the reaction that waking up as such a fictional character and having such a mediocre life that this would immediately become a parable.
Yes, Seth, I did do agree that I thought the story was going to be a parable from the very beginning. I think that "Metamorphosis" is similar and different to the parables in the Bible. It's probably more similar than different. While you're thinking that this story is a little far-fetched (the bug), some of the stories in the Bible seem to appear the same way. An example would be Jonah and the whale. Just a thought.
