"Where are you Going? Where have you Been?": 15. How is this story a parable? What is the lesson or meaning you find in the story?

One of you answered: Things are not always what they seem. The one thing she prided herself on ended up getting her into a bad situation.
another answered: 15. The story teaches an important valuable lesson. The lesson is to never trust strangers and to not get too fascinated with the contemporary teenage lifestyle.

What did you conclude the meaning was?

  2. I think the author was trying to emphasize the success of a modest woman (June), and the fate of the gaudily dressed woman (Connie).
