I feel sorry for Kate too. She may not be a "proper" lady, but she was basically forced to marry Petruchio because he was her best (and only) offer. I think she deserves better. I don't like the movie's portrayal of Kate and Bianca. Personally, I think Kate is prettier than Bianca in the movie. In the book, isn't Bianca supposed to be like a beauty queen? And isn't Kate supposed to be plain and homely?
yeah bobby's right the used to beat and hang women and put h's in the stocks, and the guillotine, and torturing them.. i also think Petruchio was crazy though.

I agree with Laurie! I feel bad for Kate as well because she is forced to marry Petruchio and she doesn't even know the guy! I know that if I were in Kate's shoes, I would be throwing fits everyday!
i feel sorry for her becuase her father cares more for bianca than her and it makes Kate the way she is. and he just lets petruchio take her because no one else will marry her
i agree with jessika and think that kate is jealous of her sister and all she wants is love from her father and since she doesn't recieive any love she gets angry and that might be the reason why she acts nasty towards others and can't find love
I feel really bad for her because she probably just doesn't want to be all fake like her sister so she's extra nasty in order to prove that they're different. I also feel bad for her because it's obvious that her father isn't very fond of her.
I'd be jealous and a shrew too if our situations were similar

ReplyDeleteIt's harder to tell that Kate is being sorta abused in the book than in the movie, but in the movie it's easy to feel sorry for her.
