Henry and His Convertable

Does anyone think that the convertible went down with Henry because it was a part of him?  The words he used in a certain quote show how it was liek the car was almost searching for Henry himself.  What do yall think?

  2. I doubt it. Henry jumped off the cliff himself-- the car did not budge at all

  3. I agree with Sarah Beth. The red convertible's headlights were on as Lyman let the car drive itself into the river, in a sense searching for Henry. Even though Henry Jr. jumped into the river himself, Lymann knew the car was always Henry's and not his, so he let the car go with Henry. I believe the car was a part of Henry.

  4. I think SB is right as well. The word choice tells us that the car plunged in. I think Lymann drove into the river because he was in hysterics when he noticed Henry was trying to commit suicide.
