Did Ms. Deckard say to hand in the completed classwork tomorrow, or does that just serve as a study guide?

    I'm pretty sure it was just to help us out, and to better understand the chapter.

    I agree, it was probably just to help us. Considering how the book is going to center around Nector, Marie, and Lulu, it's probably important to know the genesis of it all.
