So...

In The Yellow Wallpaper movie, was there a reason for "Charlotte" to repremand the maid for ringing the gong at the meal time? Was that detail in the PDF?

No, that detail was not in the short story. It was added to show that her senses are heightening.

That reminded me of my sister when she was preganant. Her senses were heightened too. Like smells would bother her if they were too pungent, and noises would make her cringe if they were only a little louder than usual, and so on. She would become very fussy, like Charlotte.. it made me laugh to watch it and be reminded of her.
