Iago hates Othello for two reasons: 1. He has suspicions that Othello had an affair with Emilia, Iago's wife. 2. Othello promoted Cassio to the position of lieutenant, instead of Iago.
also whenever Iago talks to/with himself(or the audience, as it appears in the movie) he speaks truthfully and "honest", but always puts on an act when around others.
