everytime the yellow wallpaper said "creep" i just kept thinking of samara climbing out of the well from the ring and getting her finernails stuck. the thought makes me cringe
I just saw the Mirrors lately, and it relates to the Icarus girl. There's a woman in the movie and she suffers from schizophrenia, but it's more than that. The doctor trapped the evil spirit in the mirrors and the woman can never see another mirror because the evil spirit will take over her body. The evil spirit ask people to find the woman and if they dont do it in time, the evil spirit will kill them and their family. The evil spirit is like Tilly because she "gets" people, and Tilly is the evil side of Jess.
I went and saw the new movie Mirrors (which is still in theaters) before I had finished the book and as I read the part about Tilly Tilly in the mirror in the bathroom with Jess I was freaking out because it is very similar to the movie. The movie shows the bad side of people in their reflections and the reflection makes the person do evil things which is what Tilly Tilly does to Jess.
Tilly being Jess's invisible friend who gets her into trouble- as soon as I read that, i remembered that old Disney movie Pete's Dragon with a similar idea
I agree with Hana, when i saw yellow wallpaper I couldn't help but think about the ring. Also in Icarus Girl whenever Tilly Tilly showed up randomly it reminded me of Frank from Donnie Darko whenever he would just randomly appear.
Another movie that is similar to Icarus girl is Mr. Brooks. In Mr. Brooks the main character Mr. Brooks has an alter ego Marshall that urges him to kill or "get" people just like TillyTilly.
The movie The Wide Sargasso Sea has a woman that reminds me of the woman from The Yellow Wallpaper. She shares similar characteristics as the woman from the woman in the Yellow Wallpaper, and in the movie her husband locks her up and she goes mad like the woman in the Yellow Wallpaper.
Defintly Hide and Seek
its about this dad and daughter who move to this house somewhere i nthe woods, and like the dad his this double personality that he doesnt know of, like an evil side and a normal side.
Tilly talking about becoming one with Jess reminded me of Basket Case
