It is easier to do this project if you think about what you would want to read about in a newspaper. If you are doing it in the 1960's then try to imagine how life was in the Dominican Republic during that time. I am writing on current events occurring now in the DR. Is there anything anyone is interested in learning about, in the DR?

Shelley! I'm curious about the current education system. How much has it improved since the 1960s? Are women allowed to attend whatever school they want? It was just so heartbreaking when Truilljo would not give Minerva her diploma! You know what I may just use this as one of my articles hah. I'll let you know if I think of anything else! Maybe the current political situation? these were all common themes in the book (not the most entertaining subjects, but interesting enough ha)

It would be cool to see what music people listen to. Food is always an interesting thing too.

I am doing some research on the fashion in the DR. I had no idea that they are so fashion forward. They even have their own fashion week like we do in New York! Some big name designers like Oscar de la Renta are from there.
