I don't think it was sad when Lyman pushed it in the river. It was bittersweet. The car really belonged to Henry Jr. and so that's where it resides. Lyman essentially "buries" the two together, so to speak. It was sad, though, when Lyman took a hammer to the red convertible.

no wonder they enjoyed driving around in it so much...but i cant imagine having to destroy it.
