third canto essay
I read the article about Dante's third canto, and I found it kind of confusing. Did anyone understand the point of it, because all of the quotes were making it confusing for me. I couldn't figure out what the author was trying to convey, compared to what the famous authors had written. I'm not sure what our essay is supposed to be about exactly. HELP PLEASE?!?

I agree, he should stop using so many quotes, his points weren't all that clear.
Don't go by me on this, but I think he's trying to say something to the effect that we're all sort of like opportunists in Canto III, and that we have to make a choice between values and God or nihilism.
As for our essays, we're just making two page a response. Just write about what you think of the essay, which is kind of hard to do since his essay is pretty confusing.
I found this essay very confusing as well... I am not really sure what to make of it either.
