I don't really understand... Did she commit suicide at the end and is she really crazy or is this like Icarus Girl because you can't tell what happened?

i don't get as to what happens at the end of the novel because nothing is ever explained specifically as to if she dies or not

i dont understand what happens in the end either. I think she goes up somewhere either to heaven or back to reality and the real world without Tilly. Donnie Darko has more to do with Icarus Girl I hear than Exorcism of EMiLy RoSe and got better reviews: 46 out of 100 by critics and 6.3 out of 10 by Users and 88 out of 100 and 8.3 out of 10

Consider how Emily Rose's story is presented and debated in the movie - that's why we're watching it. Remember the first day of school when you all tried to diagnose Jess and come up with a "real" explanation for the events in the book?

Also not that this is close to being realistic but in Emily Roses' case and in Jess' they had medications and they didnt take them because someone told them not to. No one knows if it would have treated them, BUT knowing the mind's power I think in both cases it could only be helped to a certain extent.

Yes, but Jess's medication was an anti-malarial, which doesn't affect the mind, and E.R.'s was a for epilepsy which would.
