i think it has helped us to understand them more. It has gotten rid of some of the stereotypes that we associate with them.

i have a different perspective about the whole situation. i kinda feel sorry for indians. they were kicked out of their own lands and forced to evolve into white society.

When we began with the stuff about how they were against stereotypes, I didn't think much of them. Now, I see that they were mistreated more than I originally thought.

I never really knew anything about Native Americans except how they dressed for sacred occastions. Now I know more about their culture especally in New Orleans.

My eyes have really been opened to how much they have struggled, and the oppression of their race and culture.

I think it has made more people more aware of small genetic disabilities such as alcoholism as well as helped us understand life on an Indian reservation. Not that i had a bad look on Native Americans before but i have a different view of their society or culture now.

i think a lot has changed my outlook. having read so many troubles of hardship dealing with indians it makes me feel sorry for them. It also makes it look like they are the good guys and the americans were bad people for forcing them to stay on small lands and having to keep to themselves and all.

i did not really know much about the Indian culturea and lifestyles before we started reading the novels and packets. in a way i feel bad for them because of all they had to go through but i also think they are hurting there reputaion, stereotype by being alchoholics

At the start of the semester, i had the ignorant thought that Native Americans were the "buddists" of north america. when ms.deckard explained that Native Americans did not use every part of the buffalos that they killed, i was shocked, for i had thought that Indians used every morsel of the animal. it was a definite let down for me but is a good realization for me to better understand their culture.

At first, I wasn't too excited about studying Native Americans because what I really knew about Indians were most of the traditional stereotypes. After studying their culture for a quarter, I have learned more truth about their culture which has made me look at their situation from a whole new perspective.

My whole perspective has changed about Native American Indians. I feel sorry for them now that I have learned how much they have struggled and how much the whites just took over their lives.
