This is a cool find, Kim.
Medea's child looks so dramatic, as if he were in a play rather than actually being killed by his mother. This relates back to the fact that theater was such a vast part of the Greeks' everyday life.
Medea looks rather bored, not something you would expect from someone killing their child. There's no hint of anger or sadness or any emotion at all on her face. Perhpas this underlines Aphrodite's role in Medea's actions, and the fact that Medea never actually had control over what she did, Aphrodite did.
