Sister Bunker and Sister Javier
Something I thought was strange is how both of the Mormon girls referred to each other as sister: Sister Bunker, Sister Javier. I would feel really weird doing that, like I wasn't me anymore. After I thought about it from their point of view it kind of made more sense to me. Okay, so in Jesus' eyes we're all brothers and sisters sorta thing, so that's why they do it, out of respect and kindness towards the other person.. makes sense.

They were saying that by calling eachother "sister" it helped them stay in the mindset of a missionary and remember the point and focus of their stay here and with each other. I don't think it is meant to remove the individual, it's just a way to remember they are brothers and sisters through god and what they are intended to do.
It does make since but then why for men are they called fathers? I thought that was a little weird, that men were fathers but women were sisters. Wouldn't they be brother instead?
Rachel, the men are called Elders and the women are called Sisters. They don't call anyone Father in the LDS church. Even the highest person in the church isn't called Father. He's the president of the church.
Oh right... hmmmm dont know why I thought it was father. But still why is it Elder and not Brother if women are called sister.
I always questioned the term "elder" as well. Also, the women said that calling themselves with the full title helped them stay in the missionary mindset.
