Here is a little bit of biographical information on Momaday. I feel like his name is familliar from previous works we have studied, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know if we have looked at some of his other works?

That's interesting Ed, I was wondering if Momaday was a member of the Kiowa tribe or what the relastion ship between them was.
i think its really cool how he was the first american indian to wim the pultizer prize.
After reading all of the novels about American Indians this year it's hard to imagine that an Indian can be successful. All the novels portray is all the negative things, i don't remember any success stories(except John Pai). I think that whenever someone wnts to write about Natives they only talk about the negatives...they don't talk to much about people who have been successful
Bobby, one of th major points of "the Indolent Boys" is to examine the definition of success. Who defines it? Will John Pai be successful in the white world? Would he have been successful in the Indian one? Who defines our own personal success for us?
Indians can be successful, but these stories aren't happy because much of Indian life is not.
