Edgar's Bullying
Because of how badly he was bullied at Willie Sherman, Edgar expects far worse than being called "Nancy", and being teased for his long, girly hair. When he finally beats Clint up, he gains respect and fear from everyone, realizing how different things are at his new school. Is this a culture shock for Edgar, will he be able to settle in to this laid-back treatment?

He needs to learn how to adjust to the Mormons because I feel like he's going to mess it up because he doesn't know any better.
i think Edgar might take it all in but make things worst. Since he beat up Clint he might think that he can do it to anyone else. But then he might gain friends out of it because people were impressed that he beat Clint up. His foster sister Sunny even acknowledged him. That is something if she talks to him because she seems to ignore him most of the time.
I think that this new "white" culture is a shock for Edgar because he is used to adults abandoning him and taking the other person's side. I think when the coach does not punish Edgar for beating up Clint, he begins to see the actions of all people aren't mean.
I was so happy when Edgar beat that kid up. I think this could be good for Edgar. I think that alot of kids respect him now, and maybe this will help him make some real long lasting friendships.
I don't think Edgar will make any lasting friendships from beating up Clint. I think he might be considered a hero by some, and even respected and looked up to, but I think Edgar will mostly be left alone now at his new school. There are no Nelson's there for Edgar to deal with now.
We'll have to keep reading to learn more; Edgar might stay quiet and hidden or he might become the next bully.
i don't know if Edgar will make any friends from beating up Clint, but the school kids now respect him and know not to mess with him. it is a matter of edgar developing some social skills.
