this might be alittle out there but i'd really like to compare it to icarus girl. i seriously think that author had some phsycological problems and no joke, she was little jessamy with a crazy ibije dead twin tillie tillie ghost or whatever man. umm jess suffered alot from the whole isolation thing that gregor does and the two both have that like "trapped" asspect of their lives they just need an escape
I think the Icarus Girl too because if you interpret the ending of the Icarus Girl as Jessemay dying then in both the stories the characters had sucky families, they were both so alienated from society they went through drastic changes, and in the end they both died because of it.
i agree with rudy in that it compares to icarus girl because both characters did have families who werent so nice to them and both of the characters were kind of shunned away.
