I liked how Kate became obedient and how Hortensio and Lucentio were disobeyed by their wives. But I hate how they didn't mention Christopher Sly for the rest of the play. They should have ended the play with his reaction or something.
I agree with Bobby about the Christopher Sly part. Why mention him if you never finish his story?? I like that Kate changes at the end, but it was kind of anti-climactic.
I wish Shakespeare went back to Christopher to finish that story as well. It could have been funny or something. Th ending with Kate being tame really works because it matches the title of the play and all.
i like how feminism takes a role in the story ..baha and how kate became cool and after having fights with petruchio, he and she came to grips and stayed with each other and she was obedient. i also like how all the guys love now wish girls today were like they were in the olden days.
christopher sly should have peed on stage or thrown apples or just been a jerk. something would have been nice.
i liked how kate turned out in the end and didn't act like a shrew anymore. ia lso thought it was ironic that bianca became the nasty sister in the end--it was like the two sisters switched places at the end.
I wish we heard more about Christopher Sly too but I hated how Kate just gave up and did whatever her husband told her. I don't think thhat she should just be mean to be mean but she also shouldn't have to roll over and play dead either.
I agree with everyone about Christopher Sly. I don't think that the "play within a play" description is very accurate if one of the plays is only partially complete.
The ending was decent, other than the fact that Kate seems like she got a lobotomy or something. Even though the misogyny that dominates the play just reflects the the attitudes of Shakespeare's time, Kate's submissiveness at the end definitely leaves a lot to be desired. Kate's complete change of personality is pretty disconcerting, especially because if Kate endured the same treatment today, she would be considered a victim of domestic abuse or possibly even torture.
I agree with Hallie about Kate. It was good that she became nicer and obedient but it was like she lost most of her spirit. and i liked how bianca showed how mean she really was to all the people that thought she was a good person
I liked the ending of the play and thought that it fit in with the title. I thought that it used the appearance vs. reality theme very well throughout the play.
i did like how at the end the roles of kate and bianca seemingly switched and kate was "tamed", but to not ever hear about Sly again was wierd and made me wonder why he was in the play to begin with
i thought the ending was kinda lame because they didn't tie the christopher sly thing together and kate just became a servant or a wife on a leash for petruchio, but hortensio found love in the widow
the ending helped us udnerstand the title in a way. but i would have liked to hear about sly since he was somewhat important in the story in the begining.

I like how Bianca ended up being mean. I know that sounds bad but i hated how perfect she was in the beginning.

She did seem kind of nuts though, especially when she decked Hortensio with his lute.

It was dissapointing that kate was actually tamed.
he either forgot to end the play or got tired of working on the taming of the shrew and wrapped it up real quick
i thought the ending was kinda lame because they didn't tie the christopher sly thing together and kate just became a servant or a wife on a leash for petruchio, but hortensio found love in the widow
i think the sly part just confused me more...and wish kate would have not changed completely
the ending of the play was legitimate considering Kate was tamed, but it would have been neat if it ended with Christophero Sly
the ending helped us udnerstand the title in a way. but i would have liked to hear about sly since he was somewhat important in the story in the begining.
