I think it's sad that Bird pounds his ridiculous thoughts into Reggies head so much that Reggie's view of reality is distorted. Reggie feels that if he accomplishes somethin good that it is because of his father, and if he does something wrong he attributes it to his mother.

I think it adds to the stereotype of each character. Stereotypically, racists like Bird hate women and anything else that is not a white protestant male, so this only makes sense for him to take his ignorance to another level.

I don't think that stereotypically racists hate women. Racists hate a person of a different race. But I do agree he hates women.

I agree, Bird is definitely a racist against Indians. Yet, i find it weird that he married an Indian and that his son is half Indian.

yeah it may be because of his marriage that he hates Native Americans. It would explain his racism towards Native Americans and his hate for women.
