blue Symbolism

blue has come up a lot in "Love Medicine" but we havent really known what it symbolizes. i looked into the symbolism of blue and found this website. any ideas of what it means??

i always thoght that blue symbolized calmness and peace and stuff. it could also mean like earth or water or something about nature like that.

i also thought that blue was a symbol of water which is an element seen as the beginning of creation. this site explains alot about colors and native americans. it explains how blue is the color which symbolizes the direction North.... http://www.princetonol.com/groups/iad/lessons/middle/color2.htm

Blue is a cold color. You turn blue when you die and especially when you freeze to death. Glacier ice is blue, and so is most water. Water can symbolize a number of other things as well.

blue refers to one of the 4 elements; water. blue is suppose to be relaxing and soothing.

Water is usually blue but I don't know how that would apply to June.
