i like the Buffalo Hunt by William R. Leigh towards the bottom."Buffalo dance of the Mandan" By Karl Bodmer and "Buffalo Bull a Grand Pawnee Warrior" by George Catlin 1832. i also think it was morbid or weird that the painter wanted nectar to get naked and then paint a painting of him plummeting to his death. I also think Eurdrich is a sex addict arent we all..jk, there is so much sexual diaologue, actions, and she is poetic sometimes and other times straight forward. The reversal of power goes to the women as they lure the men into seduction and end up having yet another child.
i really like the idea of the paintings of indians hunting buffalos. often i dont like paintings of hounds hunting foxes because i dont see it as a fair fight, but native americans hunting huge buffalos with only a bow and arrow makes the fight seem equal. i was bummed to hear that native americans would not eat every part of the buffalo but i guess that was ignorance and hopefulness on my part.
