Love Medicine

Is it just me or did it seem like the first half of the novel did not have anything to do with Native Americans. I couldn't really find very many Native American references in the first half. It seems now that it is pertaining more to Native American life than it did before though.

I think the first half of the book did talk about the life of Indians but it was more of the older generation so maybe you just noticed the difference.

I think that because the stories are told from different people's points of view some emphasize Native American tradition more than others. The author probably also wanted to show that Native Americans are people who face problems in life just like everyone else. Obviously all of the characters are struggling

Yea every chapter has something do to with how Native Americans struggle in some way. Unfortunatly, thats their reality.

i think each chapter has had some native american symbolism in it, but not as much as the last book we read.i think there are enough refernces in each chapter to make u rember that the book is about native americans

yeah they only started talking about things like powwows later on but the whole thing with Moses was all about Indian rituals.

i think that this book doesnt talk about Indian life as much as Tanto did. It puts more focus on their personal lives and their relationships. I think Tanto put more emphasis on their problems
