im puzzled

so the first circle of hell is the least tormenting? because it says that the victorious pageans are in the first circle, but they are only there because they were not baptized.

right. the paegans cant go to heaven or go deep into hell because they do not believe in JC. so they are being punished for not believing in JC

and the old testament people were in there and JC and came and took them to hevean but why didnt virgil go

The people who JC got out of hell were important old testament figures who served God but were around before Jesus and Virgil did not get out because he was not part of the ole testament
