Tumultuous Times

The shift from the Middle Ages to the early Renaissance were crazy times in Europe - why do you think that is? Each of you are discovering unique things in your research that help to answer that question, but if you start to put those things together here, we'll get a better idea of the big picture.

The shift was probably pretty crazy because everyone was thinking more in different ways, and alot more things that were not acceptable were starting to be acceptable. The whole God vs Satin Good vs Evil thing also started to go away as religion was not as big of a focus as before anymore.

the shift was very different bc the whole mind set of the people went from conquering the world to artistic life styles and such. It deffinetly was a huge shift.

I think that the shift was very exciting for the people of this time because it was a time of change and improvement. The creativity of humans had much more emphasis during this time and I think that would provide for much more interesting and entertaining discussion.

I believe that the shift started because of new found education. As the learned more about the enviroment and how the world worked around them, people began to wonder more and question basic ideas that they had always believed. Old myths had to exist with new scientific ideas, leaving people to diverge from their old ways.

I learned that in Florence at about this time, the merchant class began a significant rise in power and influence. Maybe that affected the time period.

I think that the fact that people were discovering more about the world. Even Giotto, the painter that I'm researching for the power point presentation, was praised for his depiction of space in his artwork.
