I think that it was what Edgar really needed. I mean, he knows that killing is bad, but he also knows that Barry was the cause of all of Edgars misfortune. I think in the story that since Barry gave Edgar life, it was fitting that Edgar were to take Barry's away. It fits the Good vs. Evil theme.

i wanted to see Edgar and Barry live together. i thought that maybe if they were together both of their lives might change since Barry listens to almost everything Edgar tells him.
i do believe it was good for Edgar though. Edgar can live in some peace knowing Barry isn't following him around.
I think this is a good point. I was confused on whether or not Edgar knew he actually killed Barry, I thought Barry killed himself?
i dont think edgar needed him at all. to respond to Isma.. Barry had injected himself with drugs and then kind of passed out a little. but Edgar saw the extra drugs and took a large amount into the needle and injected barry again.. almost guaranteeing his death. i dont think its good that Edgar was the one to kill Barry, but i think it had to be done. Barry's help is often fatal.
Oh, gross I definitely didn't want to see those two end up living together. Like Ms. Deckard said today, there was a clear struggle between good and evil with Barry being evil; Edgar being good. Good triumphed over evil in the end. I definitely think it was important for Edgar to kill Barry since they both struggle so much and both of their hardships are caused by one another whether it's intentionally, like in Barry's case, or unintentional in Edgar's.
I don't think it was right of Edgar to kill Barry. I think he could have found another way to get rid of him.
i agree with robert. i think it would make things very interesting between the two and we would probably learn a lot more about their relationship. maybe, after they lived together, it would have been cool if edgar killed barry. i like that he did it because one, it puts a good twist on the book, and two, barry needed to go because he was ruining edgar and the madsens' lives.
I felt bad when Barry died for some reason. Barry is terrible but he tries to do the right things but goes about them the wrong way (like following Edgar around and meddling with his life in bad ways like Lana and such). I kind of wanted to see Barry and Edgar live together for a bit as well. But I think it was necessary for Barry to die in the book.
I'm glad that Edgar was able to get rid of Barry, though I do not know if killing him was the correct approach. I thought Barry's death enabled Edgar to move on with his life and go to Stony Run in search of the mailman - his life's purpose, without having Barry hot on his heels.
