I think that the reason why people keep talking about Barry is because he is such an interesting character. He sneaks into a hospital to smuggle drugs and alcohol to his friends after all.
I think Arthur is a father figure/big brother figure. He seems like the only one who truly cares about Edgar. Barry is interesting because although he's a doctor, he doesn't seem to have the best interests of his patients in mind (ex: giving drugs to Jeffrey and alcohol to Arthur, a recovering alcoholic).
