What do you think is going to happen to Edgar now that his mother is dead, his grandmother is dead, and his new best friend, Cecil has been sent away? Do you think  he will still be strong and able to take up for himself?

I think Edgar is a very capable person when he needs to be and will find a way to better his situation.

i think that Edgar leaving Willie Sherman and surviving the icy river shows how tough he really is, both mentally and physically, i think the question should be instead i will edgar be able to find guidance through his childhood, bc as we saw in the last chapter, the mormons are clearly not the answer

i think Edgar may spend alot of times with the mormans "Elders" and maybe go with them

I doubt the deaths of his mother and grandmother will affect Edgar to the same degree that Cecil's absence will. Apart from his handful of hazy, pre-accident memories, Edgar didn't really know his mother and grandmother before they died. Not having Cecil around will definitely take a toll on Edgar, but I think he'll be able deal with it; he's dealt with much worse in his life.

I think Edgar is going to show his true self now because he does not have any distractions. I think he showed how he realized that he is alone in the world again by pretty much trying to commit suicide when he jumped into the river.

i agree with devin about the deaths of edgar's mother and grandmother. he didn't really have any memory of them because of the accident, so i dont think that will have much of an affect on him.

Well I kind of think that since Edgar has lost Art and Cecil he is alone and pretty vulnerable, especially since he tries to kill himself, he will become more trusting in Barry, who is unfortunately his only contant at the moment. I could be wrong, but we will see I guess.

i think edgar is deffinitly capable of surviving on his own. he has learned enough survival skills living at Willie Sherman, and delt with such mental problems, that he can overcome many more challanges than an average person goes through. i think is going to learn to rely on no one other than himself.

I think Edgar is a very strong person. He has been through more things in his first 8 years of his life that most people never go through. I think he can handle it after evey thing else h has been able to deal with.
