* I dislike that sometimes Edgar goes ape shiz and thinks brutal thoughts about hurting people like when he said that cecil got what was coming to him and when he beats the poop out of the boy in the shower...because though we all have those thoughts, he is lowering himself to Nelson and his crew. He has a dark side.
* I love raymond, he is a gangsta..he cleans Edgar's sheets, keeps him from the dark side because he KNOWs that he is truly a good boy..plus he pats Edgar on the back for hitting the red headed satan child. *all redheads in life are devious, devilish people except for a handful. back in Geoffrey Chaucer's day they got a PHYSiognomy right.
* i wonder what UDALL thinks about being a Mormon because his description that Prissy says leaves some wonder in what his perspective.

i like how Edgar gets really tough because he constantly gets bullied. I also liked the part where he stands up for himself and hits the bullies back
I hated when Cecil was taken away! I feel like he has to come back later in the story because he was Edgar's only friend.
I don't think Edgar has a dark side. I think his skin got tougher and he just learned how to survive in the destructive place that he was put in. If he didn't show the kids he was tough he might not have made it.
I think the only reason Edgar acted like that was out of some sort of self defense. After being picked on so much its only natural for a boy is age to want to defend himself or have some sort of evil thought about other kids. I think Sara is definetly right about the survivng part because at Willie Sherman it seems like it is survival of the fittest.
Edgar was living in a very destructive kind of place. He had no choice but to act like that. If he wouldn't have stood up for himself then they would never stop bullying him. I think it is good that he should the other that he is tough so maybe they will leave him alone.
